Our Activities
SHJC seeks to provide opportunities to express Jewish identity and sense of community through celebrations and activities that combine cultural observance of holidays, learning opportunities and social action based on humanistic values. We celebrate the High Holidays, Chanukah, Purim, Passover and Sukkot. We sponsor lectures and other educational programs which are consistent with our mission about topics of interest to our members. We assist with life cycle events, support local charities and have fun together. We do not have a formal education program for children, but we will work independently to help young people become Bar and Bat Mitzvah. We do not have a regular facility; so we meet in libraries, community centers and members’ homes. We rotate the locations in order to address the wide geographic area of our members.
